2026 Western Meter Technician School

Meter Technicial is a voluntary certification program run by NC One Water in conjunction with the NC1W Collection and Distribution Schools Workgroup and the Water Board of Education and Examiners. The curriculum provides information to help participants prepare for the Meter Technician certification exam, given at the conclusion of the school.

School Schedule
All classes will have specific tracks of sessions to attend throughout the morning and afternoon. Final class schedules will be provided one week before the school. NC One Water does not provide breakfast on any school days. Breaks will be scheduled between classes throughout each day.

.Basic Confined Space Entry Operations
- Water Treatment / Distribution / Cross Connection & Backflow Operators: Approved by NCWTFOCB for 15.0 PGH (CEUs). Course ID: 101623
- Professional Engineers: Approved for 15.0 PDHs
- Maintenance Technicians: Approved for 15.0 contact hours
- Students are expected to attend 100% of the classes.
- Emergency work absences may be allowed with supervisor's permission. Contact NC One Water staff in the registration area or headquarters room to report an absence. Absences must not total more than 20% of the course contact hours.
- Students who miss 20% or more of classes will not receive a Certificate of Completion.
- No refunds will be provided to students who fail to meet the attendance requirements.

Refunds & Substitutions (Click to expand)
.- August 7, 2026: Binder sales are no longer eligible for refunds.
- August 17, 2026: Online registration ends and registrations are no longer eligible for refunds.
Refunds using the original payment method are available if NC One Water is notified prior to the refund deadline. All refunds will be issued minus a $50 administrative fee. Refunds for event registrations may not be processed until the conclusion of the event. Where applicable, registrants may apply the payment as a credit toward another event or substitute a registrant if the request is made before the refund deadline.
If the cancellation is received after the deadline, no refund will be issued, but a substitute registrant may be requested. We accept substitutions up to the start time of the event.
